About Chris Bocchiaro
Chris is a Boston-based lighting designer for theatre, opera, dance, events, and public art. His work can be seen throughout the greater Boston Area, recently at: Actors' Shakespeare Project, The Lyric Stage Company, Speakeasy Stage, Boston Opera Collaborative, Apollinaire Theatre, Hub Theatre Company, Theatre on Fire, Fresh Ink Theatre, Old South Church, Flat Earth Theatre, Skating Club of Boston, Opera Brittenica, Fort Point Theatre Channel, The Company Theatre, Gloucester Stage, Emerson Stage, and imaginary beasts where he serves as an artistic associate.
Chris was the winner of the 2013 IRNE award for Best Lighting Design for imaginary beasts’ production of Hairy Tales.
Chris holds a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology from Emerson College where he graduated with honors. While there, he studied all disciplines of design and production as well as directing and dramatic history and criticism. His culminating honors thesis explored spatial relationships within the theatre.
Chris resides in Salem, Massachusetts with his wife Robin and enjoys trips to the woods, choral singing, and historic architecture.
